The concert by the Dorking Chamber Orchestra opens with the lively Beethoven Overture Creatures of Prometheus, followed by the romantic and beautiful Schumann Piano Concerto with the soloist Rebecca You, a current student at the Yehudi Menuhin School. After a short interval the performance is rounded off by Mendelssohn’s Symphony No 4, an exuberant piece inspired by the atmosphere of Italy in the early 19th century.
The conductor is Andrew Morley and the orchestra will be led by Guy Button.
Dorking Chamber Orchestra is a small group of about 30 Surrey musicians, including professionally trained and experienced amateur players. Founded in 1988, the DCO has been a long time participant in the Mole Valley Arts Alive Festival and looks forward to welcoming you to their concert.
Children (15 and under) can attend for free, and students for £8, Adult tickets are £15 and can be bought in advance or on the door by cash or card.
