Tate Britain: 500 years of British Art by Jessica Saraga: Art History Lectures (with a difference) – Leatherhead Community Association

Live event or show

Description

Tate Britain is the showcase gallery of British art, from Tudor and Stuart times through the centuries to the art of today. It houses the largest collection in the world of works by JMW Turner who left them in his will to the nation. Each year it also commissions an eminent British artist to create a new work for the grand, classical space in the centre of the building. This lecture takes a virtual tour around the gallery to show what visitors can currently expect to see on display highlighting some beloved favourites, icons and showstoppers.
